Red Crabs Christmas Island

Between the end of October and December millions of red crabs start their journey from the jungle to the beach. They have to travel three miles to get to the beach.

They travel through schools, city streets and shops leaving the people and kids not much space to work in.

When they get to the beach the male goes into the water and digs the hole for the eggs to go in. Each female lays 100,000 eggs each. They leave their eggs for six weeks in the water.

All of the babies and the females and male crabs have to climb anything that gets in there way like cliff, walls and roof tops.

Earthquakes

In the Christchurch earthquake over 100 people died.

The magnitude was 6.1

The February earthquake was worse than the September earthquake because the February earthquake killed people and animals.

Learning About Picture Trail

During ICT my teacher said that she was going to teach me how to use picturetrail.  On our class blog the teacher has made a few slide shows using picture trail.  Picturetrail allows you to make a slide show and put a border and a background on it.  I had to create a slideshow using pictures from when the Rugby World Cup when it visited Frimley School.  It was really fun playing with all the different effects.

Sharing With My Class

I have shown my class the Digikidz blog and Weemee. I have shown them my writing on the blog too. This week my class will be making their own Weemee.  My class has done a poster about camp too.  At school we have a group of computer experts called Apple Wizards.  I am the leader of group A in Apple Wizards.  When I shared the blog with my class they thought it was really cool.Mitchell

Sharing at frimley

I showed the apple wizards group c how to make a weemee and how to cut and put it into their folder and put it into the apple wizards blog. I also told them not to put personal information on the blog because it is on the Internet and any one can read it and track you down. I am going to show my class about the digikidz website.

Sharing new things with my class

I did not get a chance to show Group A in apple wizards how to make a weemee but I am going to share it with my class today. I have told some of my friends not to put real photo's on the internet because anything on the internet can be seen anywhere.
